The Miami food scene is about to get a little tastier. Food lovers, culinary thrill-seekers and burgeoning gourmets will have a new obsession beginning on Friday, May 4, when TastingTable.com launches its local Miami edition. Dedicated to the best of food and drink culture, Tasting Table Miami will deliver members a short email update every weekday about the best restaurants, bars, wine shops and culinary trends the city has to offer. Anyone may become a member for free at TastingTable.com.
Joining other local editions in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago and Washington, D.C., Tasting Table Miami will be the sixth city edition of this nationally renowned foodie lifestyle publication, which reaches over a million people nationwide each week.
Local journalist Trina Sargalski has been tapped to head the edition. As Miami editor, Sargalski brings to the table her impressive experience as a reporter and producer for WLRN-Miami Herald News and Under the Sun, as well as her personal passion for all things epicurean. “With so many media outlets competing for Miami residents’ attention in the food space, Tasting Table will focus on delivering original recommendations that you won’t get elsewhere,” explains editor in chief Scott Hocker. “Rather than focusing on the next restaurant or bar that’s opening under overhyped conditions, Tasting Table works hard to tell provocative stories about the people, places and products that make Miami a unique place to live, eat and drink.”
Those who sign up for of Tasting Table Miami’s edition by May 31, 2012, will be automatically entered in a special launch sweepstakes for the chance to win a culinary prize package with real South Florida flavor.
Valued at over $1500, the prize package includes signed editions of Cuisine a Latina by Michelle Bernstein; Michael’s Genuine Food by Michael Schwartz; Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival Cookbook by Lee Brian Schrager; American Flavor by Andrew Carmellini; a $250 gift card from Whole Foods Market Florida, a set of premium olive oils from Lucini, and and a to-die-for package at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach, encompassing: a complimentary two (2)-night, three (3)-day stay in deluxe guestroom accommodations, a complimentary dinner for two (2) at any one of the resort’s three AAA Four Diamond signature restaurants – Gotham Steak, Scarpetta or Hakkasan – and two 50-minute Lapissage massages courtesy of Lapis Spa at Fontainebleau.
